How many of you have kids that prefer Veggies over Cookies?? My two year old is all talk when it comes to Cookies. He always wants them, but then nibbles on them for hours maybe – and rarely gets anywhere. (Every now and then he will eat a whole cookie.. and he likes teddy grahams and small things like that.)
For dinner tonight I’m making Chicken Pot Pie from leftover Chicken, that I simply mix with some frozen mixed veggies, a can of cream of chicken soup, salt/pepper, and lay it in the crust and bake.
Andrew woke up from his nap as I was heating the veggies in the microwave. After they came out, he wanted a bite – I figured since he’s been feeling sick for the last few days that he would take one bite and spit it out or something. Nope! He wanted more and more. Well and considering that he has barely eaten over the past few days, I was not about to stop him from having veggies! So I put the bowl in front of him and let him at it, and just made more for our pot pie (We buy the bags of veggies from Costco, so I’m not terribly worried about a little waste here…)
So – do your kids eat their veggies? or are they more cookie monsters??
Cameron will eat his veggies before anything else of his plate if its his fav (frozen peas, green beans, baked beans) :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves potatoes (well I know that's actually a starch but...) and mushrooms and tomatoes, she's not terribly fond of other veggies, but I made a California Mix for dinner tonight and she sprinkled some Parmesan cheese on them and declared them delicious. SHOCKER!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome he eats veggies! I have a little cookie monster on my hands who refuses to eat veggies, unless of course you count french fries but I don't. You're so lucky!
ReplyDeleteMy kids are great at eating veggies, but they do like their fair share of sweets too. :)
